Chiropractic Care/Acupuncture

Family Pet Health Care offers alternative treatment options such as chiropractic care and acupuncture for pets experiencing pain, inflammation, and mobility issues.

Chiropractic care refers to a procedure involving the manipulation of the spine or other skeletal components to restore normal flexibility and function. Our pets engage in a variety of activities from play, to sports and the occasional accident, any of which can cause things to get a little twisted out of shape. Through extensive training and decades of experience, Dr. Berschneider has developed a unique style of body work that combines some muscle massage, fascial, and trigger point release with gentle chiropractic manipulation to best restore function and relieve pain. This approach usually results in a more comfortable and longer lasting treatment. A session may also include some instructions on how to help minimize or prevent future injuries.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that has been proven effective over thousands of years. It involves the use of precisely placed tiny needles, or injections of special solutions in specific locations. Acupuncture can help to relieve pain and balance out various functions in the body such as the immune, nervous or gastrointestinal systems. It has been used effectively for dogs suffering from spinal injuries, allergies and seizures. Well tolerated by most dogs and cats it can be used alone or as a complementary treatment with other procedures or medicines to improve healing.
